Description

Thirsty Ibis.

Geronticus eremita - Nothern Bald Ibis.
This photo was taken on 10/1 - 2015.

I used to go pass the Northern bald ibis enclosure since it's in the "swamp"-area and it's really hot in there and
I really didn't find them fun to photograph. This day changed my mind and I wasn't even planning on taking photos of
them but I had to go in somewhere warm, because my hands were freezing and before I knew it, I was taking photos of the birds.

Some of them were staring at me and others were just minding their own business. I still haven't edited all the photos from this day, but
I will do it during the next week or so.

This is my first critique and I probably won't do them much.

The photo is stunning. You can clearly see the smallest droplets of water which is pretty cool. The detail of everything surrounding the bird is clear and natural. The thing that also caught my attention was the white tag on the Ibis's foot.

Vision: 5/5 Very descriptive, To be honest I don't don't what "vision" refers to, but if it refers to the clarity, or some type of creativity, then the photo gets it.

Originality: 5/5. Now, to be honest I was uncertain of what to put for this. I wanted to put 4.5, but Ibises don't live by me. It isn't an everyday thing to see one of these birds for me, and I never put a big interest in them either, so it's original in that sense.

Impact: 4/5. Now someone's going to come with a pole and stab me in the back and send me to hell for rating 4/5. This is my honest feelings toward the photo. I'm guessing impact refers to the emotional/mental impact the photo had on me? I mean, it's beautiful, but Ibises never meant much to me, and the photo isn't spreading any sort of message, but still, it isn't my fault that Impact is on the list of things I have to rate.

Technique: 5/5 I guess. It's the normal technique I've seen in photos in magazines like National Geographics, such as the focus on the main point, and small features standing out (such as color of the beak, water). Again, this is coming from someone who's going to become a doctor, not a photographer, so I'm only rating this from my own feelings toward the photo.

Now, I'm not an expert at photography or anything, but this photo is pretty Critique worthy.

Don't send me to hell or anything for the 4/5 >-<
